R & D Links with AsiaBack to Newsletters OnlineProfessor Lindsay Falvey will increase the IID Fund's involvement in R&D related to hill agriculture in tropical regions. IID members have been involved in research related to trees and small holder dairy development in Thailand and Laos for some three years and is expected to increase their involvement in this strategically important area of development assistance. Professor Lindsay Falvey's book Food Environment Education : Agricultural Education in Natural Resource Management (jointly published by IID and the Crawford Fund in 1996) has documented the very high rates of return to investments in agricultural research, and its vital role, together with education, in feeding the increasing world population on decreasing areas of agricultural land.
