Publishing

The Institute has been associated with the publication of several books associated with aspects of International Development, International Consulting , Education and Training in Agriculture and wise living in general. The books chosen for publication reflect the interests of members active as writers. A particular interest in recent times has been in spiritual approaches to world views associated with sustainability and in particular, Buddhism and Vedic traditions. This reflects the importance of "world view" on the actions of land managers in the style of 'the real environmentalist being the person wielding the axe', which of course refers to the person involved in the environment rather than the armchair environmentalist. Far from condoning indiscriminate cutting if trees by hand, the sentiment refers includes the internal experiences of those engaged with nature and in the style of the ancient Greek and Asian sages discounts the modern philosopher who refuses to live his philosophy. These books are available for purchase and in most case are available for free downloads from this site. Details can be found on our web page at http://www.iid.org/books.php
