ResearchIn addition to undertaking its own research funded from within its own development fund, it also carried out contract research on behalf of others. At the time of writing, it is supervising applied research projects in Australia totaling some $1M in three states. The research is funded under a combination of grants from federal agencies co-operative agreements with state government departments concerned with agriculture and universities. The Institute has particular interest in plants that grow in very saline conditions. In addition to its extensive work in Australia, it has undertaken assignments in the UAE, Iran, Mexico and the South West of USA in this special area of interest. Details can be found at www.nypa.com.au.The Institute has also been contracted to research a system for facilitating private investment into degraded land and water facilities in Australia’s Murray Darling Basin. Initial fund size planned is $50M.
